By Simon GolanThe Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) has launched a new online game to lure Israelis into the world of penguins.
Launching on Wednesday, the online game – known as “The Penguin Game” – aims to give players a chance to interact with penguins on an online platform.
The game has been developed by the Israel Antiquity Authority (IAA) and aims to provide players with an opportunity to visit the penguins in the southern kingdom of Samaria.
It was developed by an Israeli team that has been working on the project for over a year, and is being launched with the support of IAA, the Ministry of Culture and the Israeli Science and Technology Agency.
“The idea is to create a virtual environment in which visitors to Samaria can interact with these animals in an authentic way, and to showcase the unique features of the penguin, which are considered to be among the most important of the birds in the world,” IAA Director-General Yossi Sholom said in a statement.
“In order to ensure that the penguiners are in our best interest, the penguinas are placed on the virtual island of the kingdom of Sama, where they can be seen and heard by a large audience,” he added.
“When visitors visit the island they are invited to play the game, and the penguinals are also able to be seen in a live-streamed video chat with the visitors.
The video-game will be accessible in English, Arabic and Hebrew, with all the penguine species in the kingdom and all the animal species on the island displayed in a way that is visually appealing and accessible to all visitors.
It will also be able to support the development of new interactive platforms for interactive learning, interactive experiences and entertainment.
In the past year, we have invested in penguin research, conservation and tourism projects that have helped to conserve the species, and also made it possible for them to return to the wild, the statement added.
